I chose a particularly feminine theme for this painting in honor of International Woman’s Day celebrated on March 8th. This day and theme remind me of my own life and how I developed an interest in art when in 1967 at the age of nine my ballet teacher informed my parents in her heavy French accent that “Lynn would never be a ballerina”. She was absolutely right…so my parents enrolled me in a painting class instead and the rest, as they say…is history!
Not all little girls are cut out to be ballerinas. Here’s to women everywhere in honor of their many and varied strengths and talents!
